Information sessions on the process for assessment and categorization of food establishments
Led by international experts, Vlatka Vrdoljak Goossens and Jellen Goossens the Food Safety Project held two workshops in Tirana on September 21-22 to share information on the process of assessing and categorizing food establishments in line with EU requirements.
The first workshop was attended by representatives from the National Food Authority and the National Veterinary and Plant Protection Authority, while on the second day, food businesses and representative associations covering sectors such as meat, fish, eggs and milk participated to learn more about the process that lies ahead as Albania makes further progress on its path to EU accession.
Further support will be provided by project experts in November to start training inspectors on the procedure and checklists that can be used to ensure consistent evaluation of food establishments.
