Training on structural, operational and hygiene requirements
Jellen Goossens, official controls expert from Belgium returned to Tirana this week to deliver training on the structural, operational and hygiene requirements for food establishments, following the workshop held in September on the process of assessing and categorizing food establishments in line with EU requirements.
On 9th November the first training session took place and included 30 AKU inspectors where the focus was on structural, operational and hygiene requirements in food establishments. Several topics were covered including practical elements on legislative requirements, good hygienic practices, HACCP principles and risk assessment-prevention-reduction procedures based on HACCP etc. Examples of practical solutions of potential problems were given.
The second session on 10th November focused on requirements for slaughterhouses and meat processing establishments and was attended by inspectors from AKU and AKVMB.
