The Food Safety Project addresses the International Conference "Food Safety - A Permanent Challenge”, organized by UBT
The Team leader of EU funded Food Safety Project, Vanessa Cooling was invited to speak at today’s International Conference "Food Safety - A Permanent Challenge”, organized by the Agricultural University of Tirana (UBT).
High level representatives from MoARD, AKU, AKVMB, ISUV, University of Bari and professors and students from UBT were part of the conference discussing and sharing ideas about food safety challenges and future initiatives.
Ms. Cooling presented an overview of the Food Safety Project results appreciating the cooperation with Albanian authorities and acknowledging Albania’s commitment to aligning with Chapter 12 of the EU acquis and strengthening Albanian Food Safety, veterinary and plant health standards.
The conference also addressed important topics such as: the control of foodborne diseases in Europe, novel food, antibiotic resistance, salmonella, use of pesticides, raw milk quality, impact of environmental pollution, food labelling, biodiversity and the importance of the “One Health” approach.
