The Food Safety Project together with NFA and 4 Partner Institutions in Albania Launches the ‘Safe in Summer’ Awareness Campaign

The Food Safety Project in cooperation with National Food Authority (NFA) launched the ‘Safe in Summer’ Awareness Campaign focused on the risks that the consumers and FBO’s face during the summer months.


Four other Partner Institutions, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MoARD), Public Health Institution (PHI,) National Veterinary & Plant Protection Authority (NVPPA) and Consumer Protection Agency-Tirana Municipality, joined the campaign that includes social media posts as infographics with simple images and clear messages regarding Food Safety.


In the framework of ‘Safe in Summer’ Awareness Campaign, the Food Safety Project together with NFA published the “Safe handling and serving of ice cream’ booklet to assist Albanian FBO’s and retailers involved in the sale and serving of soft ice-cream, to comply with their legal obligations and Food Safety rules.


The digital booklet and printed copies will be delivered by NFA inspectors in main Albanian cities as Tirana, Shkoder, Lezhe, Durres, Korça, Pogradec, Fieri, Vlora, Himara, Saranda.


The ‘Safe in Summer’ Awareness Campaign will be extended during August and September 2021.

The Food Safety Project (“Support to food safety, veterinary and phytosanitary standards”) is funded by the European Union and implemented by a consortium led by FSAI. The implementing group also includes the Finnish Food Authority, the Irish Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine and Creative Business Solutions (CBS) in Albania.
